But the Fear of the Lord!

I was never treated with kid’s gloves growing up. I had to learn and learn fast! I can look back today and understand just a little bit better than before why God allowed this to happen.

My purpose has always been to be purposeful in the darkness and with that tinge of fear always lingering. Through God’s grace I have been able by faith to look ahead, though honestly, I had minimal details to guide me other than a word. I ponder often that when God is doing work, I will have a strong sense that it is time to do something, prepare or time to move!

Fear is real for all of us. We find its mentioned quite often in the Word of God, “not to fear, or be dismayed for God is with us wherever we go! The word of God says that He has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7), it further goes on to say, that there is no fear in love (1 John 4:18).

I pray today we can learn to embrace fear but operate in it too. Fear is real but it is useful. Fear has caused me coupled with my faith to stretch my faith past my comfort zones and my own priorities. I pray the fear of the Lord grips us greater than the fear of what this world, or anyone in it can do to us! (1 John 4:4). I pray we can master what God truly wants us to know and learn, in the having to repeat in the Word, “don’t be afraid!”

I pray that we begin to start planting our hearts, minds, spirits and souls firmly on the foundation of Jesus Christ, so when the foundation of this unstable world shakes, our spirits will anchor firmly to the promise that awaits us, when Jesus encourages us ~ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.(John 16:33)

The quality of walking fearlessly isn’t produced in this flesh on its own, for our flesh is a deceiver, (Gal 5:17). Fearlessness is produced in us through the knowledge of God, (Prov 9:10-12), and of the One who can destroy our bodies and our souls, (Matt 10:28).

I pray the Lord help us to gird up our loins of faith and step out running looking for where He is working, and even if there is a tinge of fear, keep running, no worries, it will be resolved once you arrive at your destination with the Lord and realize that fear was all fabricated by our flesh anyway; there is where God begins to dissolve that fear through the knowledge and understanding of His perfect love and peace.

Until Next Time Beloved, Read the Word to Know Him!
